Five minutes to Marienplatz. The river right outside the door.

Stube & Stories sits on the River Loisach in the old part of Garmisch. A covered footbridge a few steps away takes you into the center: cafés and restaurants are 150 m away, Museum Aschenbrenner is next door and the Zugspitze cable car is a 15-minute walk. The house itself is a listed 19th-century building with painted walls and green shutters. Inside you find a vaulted kitchen with the old wood-burning range, a dining room around a green tiled stove and three modern bathrooms.

About the House

A whole Bavarian house for your group: a listed building from the 19th century, renovated with care and spread over three floors. Under the vaulted ceiling of the kitchen stands the historic wood-burning range next to a modern kitchen, with a breakfast nook for quick starts before the mountains. The dining room seats eight around a long table next to the green tiled stove, the Stube that gave the house its name.

On the first floor there is a bright living room under wooden beams with a large corner sofa and a desk, plus one bedroom. Three more bedrooms are on the top floor: three of the four have a king bed, one has two twin beds. Three modern bathrooms and an extra WC complete the house, and from the wooden balcony you look over the rooftops to the mountains.

Guest Reviews

"Fantastic walking location, located a few steps from a covered pedestrian bridge that takes you straight into Garmisch. Beautiful residence, worked well with our 7 and 4 year olds as well as a set of grandparents, with a room to spare. Allowed for an awesome base camp to explore the area - just wish we stayed longer."

"My family really enjoyed this house. It has the charm of an older home but with all the modern amenities and is a short walk to everything in town."

"We had a wonderful stay! The location is beautiful, with a lovely little river flowing nearby and stunning mountain views. The home was comfortable, and the beds were especially cozy. We'd definitely recommend staying here!"

"Large home located in walkable distance from so much to see and do in the Garmisch area. Full kitchen was definitely a plus. Future guests should venture down the street to the bakerie for the most delicious home made breads, rolls, and pretzels."
